Customer Story: Aime from Wildgood
Welcome Aime! Tell us a little bit more Wildgood and what you're working on there.
We launched in Spring 2021, and we're a small ice cream company - with just 4 people based in Vermont. Wildgood is the first and only plant-based ice cream made from extra virgin olive oil. We don’t use any other plant-milks in our formula. The EVOO gives our ice cream a silky smooth consistency without imparting a strong base flavor.
Which channels are most important to you?
We’re focused on our retail presence - Wildgood is available in over 2,200 grocery stores in the US and we’re continuing to expand. From a marketing standpoint we focus on shopper marketing, experiential sampling and digital advertising. We do have an eCommerce side of the business, but it’s not our core channel.
What about retail scoop shops: Do you sell to them too?
Our founder is from Greece and sells both dairy and non-dairy ice cream in scoop shops throughout the country! But as for the US market, you won’t find us in scoops shops at the moment - all of our efforts are targeted towards retail.
Let’s chat about the website: What have you been working on with Storetasker? How’s the experience been?
It’s been incredibly helpful to have Storetasker as a resource. Finding a web developer is challenging. With so many developers and agencies to choose from, it can be an overwhelming and time consuming process. Having a place where all developers are vetted AND specialized in Shopify has been incredibly helpful.
And in terms of my interactions with Storetasker, it’s been pretty sporadic based on my needs. Any time I need to do something that exceeds my very basic skills - I engage Storetasker. That can be for anything from adding a page to the site, to updating fonts, to optimizing our page templates. My web development budget is limited, so we’ve made incremental improvements over time with Storetasker’s help.
Last question: What’s been the key to Wildgood’s success so far?
Making the most of the resources that we have and concentrating on what we do well.
As a startup, by definition, you're resource-strapped. It's easy to be overwhelmed by all the things that you're not doing or all the things that you're not in a position to do well. But for us, we're really focused on investing our time & resources on what’s actually working, without being distracted by the rest.
